Three-strand red coral set with “Azhurni” openwork zgardas and a dukach medallion

This set is my own interpretation of a traditional Ukrainian coral necklace. It consists of three rows of large natural corals in a dynamic cascading composition. The bead shapes vary from almost cubic to softly rounded; the shade is rich warm red. Between the corals are beads and spacers coated with 18K gold and decorative brass beads in the center of the two upper rows.

A dukach on a red velvet ribbon is the upper decorative center: a rosette-shaped bow inlaid with carnelian, from which hangs a voluminous heart with a pair of birds — a symbol of love, harmony and spiritual unity.

The lower row is decorated with five large brass zgards with a complex geometric structure, filigree and symbols of the sun and fertility. The dukach clasp is a ribbon tie at the back in a bow. The set includes matching coral earrings.

This decoration does not just reproduce tradition — it speaks the language of family, memory and love.
