White coral necklace with signature beads, nickel-silver zgardas and silver fittings

This piece is my contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Ukrainian zgarda. I wanted to create something that combines the strength of ethnic forms, the restrained nobility of metal, and the almost sculptural flow of a multi-strand necklace.

I assembled the composition from white coral beads in a soft milky shade. I love the way they interact with light — the coral looks both delicate and graphic at the same time, while its natural shape creates a living rhythm throughout every strand.

The central elements are traditional Ukrainian zgardas made of nickel silver. I love this metal for its complex silver-graphite tone and its subtle, noble shine.

The necklace is complemented by signature Frolov Jewels beads. They create accents between the coral strands and add a sense of depth and handcrafted character to the piece. Between the coral elements, I used 925 sterling silver spacer beads that create a delicate rhythm and a subtle shimmer in motion.

It was important to me that the piece would feel not only expressive, but also comfortable to wear. That’s why I added a clasp with an extender chain, allowing the length and fit to be adjusted for different looks. The satin ribbon adds softness and an almost ceremonial feel to the entire composition.

The set is completed with matching nickel silver zgarda earrings that continue the rhythm of the necklace and bring the whole story together as one cohesive piece.
